The Gatekeeper

Have you ever been to a party where someone’s standing at the door, checking guests’ names against the invitation list? Put yourself in the host’s position; you wouldn’t fancy paying for an uninvited guest, would you? Nobody would.

It’s the same with our thoughts, and we should keep a good gatekeeper to ensure that only encouraging and healthy thoughts are allowed to enter our minds.

As the greatest gatekeepers of our minds, it’s up to us to choose what we allow to take up residence in our heads. We must become conscious of our thinking patterns and understand that the quality of our thoughts is directly related to the quality of our lives.

During times of self-doubt, fear and internal chaos, the following affirmation can help alleviate the suffering we allow ourselves to experience and make way for the bliss that exists in our daily lives.

Positive Affirmation

I am the vigilant gatekeeper of my mind. Gifted with this awareness, I will only allow positive, beneficial and inspiring ideas to flow into me. I value my headspace, and any harmful, toxic and demoralising thoughts can be left at the door.

I have complete control. I am the master of my mind.
