What do you say to yourself?

“We become what we think about”. — Earl Nightingale.

Our own words affect us, whether we realise it or not. What do you think will happen if you continuously tell a child that he is dumb? He will become one. Whereas nurturing that child and saying that he is capable of great things will strengthen his belief and self-esteem. Consequently, he will be motivated to work hard for whatever he wants to achieve and make it a reality.

Also, whatever we tell ourselves goes to our subconscious mind, which does not recognise whether it is true or not. It just accepts it. Garbage in, garbage out. Good things in, good things out. Great achievers in this world have emphasised the importance of positive affirmations, followed by actions. We can use positive and uplifting words to strengthen our beliefs and help us achieve our endeavours by being aware of what we say to ourselves.
